Cong, NC high command’s fresh directive to leaders: | Let coalition run ‘smoothly’, follow ‘dharma’ in full spirit | | Early Times Report Jammu: Even as the NC led coalition government is running smoothly in the state, both NC High Command and Congress High Command are said to be getting wary of the statements and comments of leaders of the both the parties which is creating wedge at various levels. In order to prevent further widening of the gap both the parties are convening separate meetings where the matters would be discussed threadbare besides meetings with individual leaders whose comments have caused tension in the ties. Sources said the NC High Command is convening a meeting soon in which only senior leaders from both the regions would be called with whom it intends to discuss the imperatives of following ‘coalition dharma’ in full spirit. The NC High Command, which sources said is worried over ‘reactionary’ statements by some leaders against the main ally Congress wants to check this trend further so that relations do not affected in running the coalition smoothly. In this meeting the main agenda would be give specific directions not to give any statements or reaction to any provocative statements of the Congress leaders at the local level. Though NC Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah has already given the instructions particularly to his brother Dr Mustafa Kamal, whose statements have created a sort of furore within the Congress, this meeting would lay thrust on such ‘do’s and do nots’ for all leaders to follow. Sources also said some Congress leaders increasingly getting vocal against the NC has not augured well party High Command which is stated to be not happy with speaking against the ruling partner, no matter the issues are ‘close to the heart’ of the party or of immense political significance. Though High Command has sought all the matters to be sorted out and settled by the Coordination Committee headed by J&K PCC Chief Prof Saif-uDin Soz . However, in the wake of NC having taken note of Congress’ assertion at the local level over rotational Chief Minister issue raised by none other than the party stalwart Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma, it is said to have conveyed to the JKPCC leadership that this was the matter to be decided by the High Command itself. To make things clear and get the message percolated down the hierarchy , the Congress High Command, mainly the leaders incharge J&K affairs have sought the matter to discussed in person with some leaders in separate meetings at New Delhi, sources said. Therefore, with the timely intervention of High Commands of both the parties, the war of words between the leaders of two major ruling allies Congress and National Conference which commenced from individual statements to criticism and comments in public rallies is expected not to have any undesirable impact on running of the coalition government in J&K . Spats in public and uncalled for comments in rallies have pulled the leaders apart at various levels and this surely sent both NC and Congress High Command into worrying mode. In order to prevent ‘rough weather’ for smooth running of the coalition, the wheels would be greased further both at the High Command level as also in the Coordination Committee meeting, where it was discussed seriously by both the partners in last meeting.
