Mohd Sporting wins by 5 wkts, enters QFs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Jan 04: Mohamadan Sporting Jammu today qualified for the last eight stages of quarterfinals in the ongoing DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here. In the pre-quarterfinal, played today, Mohamadan Sporting defeated Young Hearts Kathua by five wickets. Earlier, Young Hearts won the toss and decided to bat first. The whole side bowled out for 82 runs in 19.5 overs. In reply, the target was easily chased by Mohd Sporting for the loss of five wicket sparing nine overs of their innings. Gopal Sharma (Pinta) was highest run getter from Young Hearts with 27 runs while Randeep contributed 10 runs. From Mohd Sporting, Saquib was most successful bowler who claimed three wickets for 15 runs while Ishfaqat and Nishu shared two wickets each. Later, Mohd Sporting attained the goal without facing much difficulty making 83 runs in 11 overs with five wickets in hand. Sunny and Naresh were main scorers with 26 and 14 runs in their respective accounts. Gopal Sharma was only successful bowler from Young Hearts with four wickets for 25 runs in four overs. For his all-round performance, Gopal was adjudged man of the match. The Rs 1100 cash prize was handed over by Sakeel Ahmed Tony, district vice-president National Conference.
