| RUF expresses satisfaction over complete bandh | | Next course of action after Nov 22: Chuni | | The president of Refugee United Front (RUF) Rajiv Chuni congratulated the people of Jammu in making ‘Jammu Bandh’ successful, which was total and peaceful. Addressing a battery of media persons her today, Chuni said, people of Jammu and its adjoining areas fully supported and was incident free. He said since partition of the country, no serious thought for the rehabilitation of refugees of West Pakistan was taken into consideration. He said both state and centre governments failed to redress the problems of the refugees. Chuni further said, 15 days ultimatum has been given to the state government to solve the burning problems of the refugees, otherwise all the refugees will be forced to come on streets and added Govt. should come to the rescue of refugees. He expresses his thanks to president Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ram Sahai, President, Jammu Retailers association, B.B Gupta, Pritam Singh, S.Kuldeep Singh who supported the cause of refugees and were instrumental in making bandh successful, he said. The Shiv Sena president (Thackrey) Anan Sharma whoa was also present in the press conference, said all the refugees are Hindus and Sikhs, and as such Govt both at centre and state are not serious about it and added if Muslims would have been the refuges, the matter would have been settled much earlier. Those Hindu, Sikh refugees have been deprived of their citizenship rights beside other facilities. This shows Govt discrimination attitude towards minority people of the state. During the hour long press conference, state president Akali Dal S. Joginder Singh, President, West Pakistan refugee committee Labha Ram, president Sikh Student federation, Paramjeet Singh Pamma were also present.
