JWAM to protest inflation from Jan 9 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 4: In protest against the apathy of government towards the common masses, Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) has decided to launch ‘Jan Andolan’ from January 9. Addressing a press conference, JWAM president Sunil Dimple said that the protests would be held against the constantly rising prices and the failure” of central government to control them. He said that the rising prices have affected every section of society in Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the country but government is just watching as mute spectator. Dimple has appealed the Coalition Govt. and the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take the issue with the Union Government especially the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh so that they are controlled. He also demanded that strong measures should be taken against the food adulterators who are playing with the lives of the people. He alleged that the LPG gas is also not available to the consumers and half filled, underweight LPG cylinders are being sold in the market. “The adulterated petrol and diesel is being sold in the market by the petrol pumps and CAPD department is watching all this silently and is hand in gloves with the culprits”, he alleged.
