Sham pays visit to Home for Aged & Affirm | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, JAN 04 – Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma today paid visit to Home of Aged and Infirm (Vridh Ashram) at Ambphalla and took stock of the facilities available there. The Minister interacted with the inmates and enquired about their welfare. He also spoke to the Members of the Management Committee of the Home. The Committee briefed the Minister about the activities and facilities being provided to the inmates and put forth charter of demands, which included enhancement of Grant-in-Aid from the Government, proper sanitation in and around the Home, healthcare and security arrangements. It was revealed that the strength of the Home is around 80 to 90 inmates and provides assistance and other necessary help without any caste, creed and color. The Home manages food, clothing and other arrangements for their comfortable stay. It was further revealed that Home receives very negligible Grant-in-Aid and its mainstay is on the donations from the public President Viklang Chhatra Trust, Satpal Saraf, Honorary Secretary of the Ashram, Vijay Bagotra, Chief Medical Officer, Jammu, Dr. Baldev Sharma and Health Officer, JMC, Dr. Anwar Choudhary also accompanied the Minister.
