Congress leader accuses PYC chief of 'weakening coalition' | vHigh command's intervention sought into 'mess' in PYC | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 4: At a time when the Congress High Command is trying to dissuade its leaders from creating any controversies within the party or between the ruling allies in J&K, fresh discontent has suddenly erupted this time from party's youth wing with fingers being raised at Pradesh Youth congress president Shoaib Lone. Raja Maroof Khan, senior Congress leader and former Vice-President, J&K Pradesh Youth Congress has shot a hard-hitting letter to the high command in New Delhi seeking its intervention into the mess prevailing in the working of Pradesh Youth Congress in J&K. Khan has pointed out the statement of PYC President in which the latter has made allegations about large-scale corruption in the state. Apparently, annoyed over the way the allegations has been made the PYC chief, Khan has attributed it as a vested attempt to weaken the NC-Congress coalition. "It seems that the PYC President is habitual of creating controversies on every sort by delivering such statements.", Maroof Khan expressed in his letter adding that "earlier also he (Lone) has created confusion and controversies of all sorts by issuing uncalled for statements on revocation of AFSPA, terming all civilian killings as 'innocent' and halting of Durbar move." Taking a dig also at the NC stalwart, Mustafa Kamal, he said the NC leader too was trying to create misunderstandings in the coalition's working by making uncalled for statements. He said that NC-Congress coalition shall last for full six months. Interestingly, while the comment on rotational Chief Minister by the veteran party leader Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma has irked NC camp , this Congress leader too has raised the point rather contended that CM's chair "shall be offered to Congress after three years and we shall further persuade upon the party high command to again give chance to a Congressman from Jammu to lead this state.". Expressing his dissatisfaction and displeasure over the functioning of Shoaib Lone, Maroof Khan has further alleged that ever since the constitution of Youth Congress and nomination of Shoaib Lone as its president, no meeting nor any political activity except for a welcome function organised by PCC President, within the four-walls of PCC Headquarters at Srinagar . "The job assigned by Rahul Gandhiji 'snatching stones from stone-pelters' remains unfulfilled…….. Lone is creating confusion and situations in Jammu while exceeding his jurisdiction and ambit and shirking to move to Kashmir, his constituency and area of operation", Khan alleged in his statement. He also accused Lone of trying to promote factionalism in Youth Congress by selectively preferring his blue-eyed fellows over genuine Youth Congress activists. Maroof has sought the intervention of Rahul Gandhi into the matters for immediate remedial measures. Massive demonstration held against failure of Govt. |
