Jammu girl excel in chess | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 05: Young Arushi Kotwal has brought laurels to the state securing first place among girls in the recently held 7th State Open prize money U-17 Chess Championship at Moga in Punjab. A second standard student of BSF School, here, Arushi bagged overall 17th rank in the championship. She obtained 4.5 points in the seven-round competition, which was organised by Moga District Chess Association. Winner of the under-11 year title in the inter-school chess championship held at Jammu in December last, Arushi has a bright future in the game. Besides Arushi, Akriti Kotwal (U-14), Varinder Singh Chib (U-11) and Shivinder Singh also participated and secured four, four and half and three and half points respectively.
