Akhoon honoured for “Bharat Gaurav Award” | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 5: Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) today honoured Minister for Transport Qamar Ali Akhoon for being conferred with “Bharat Gaurav Award” at an impressive function held at New Modern College of Education, Sainik Colony Jammu. “Bharat Gourav Award” was conferred to the Minister at New Delhi recently for his meritorious services, outstanding performance and selfless services to the people particularly downtrodden. Function was organized by the JKFFA in collaboration with New Modern Group of Colleges, J&K Eco-Care Takers Organization and Uppkar Education and community Development Society. Speaking on the occasion, Akhoon appreciated the organizers for holding such functions, which further boost the moral of the awardees and encourages them to carry forward their selfless services. He assured the he will continue his efforts in serving the mankind with same sincerity and enthusiasm. He said that various measures have been initiated in bringing transparency in the Public Distribution System and Transport. Akhoon lauded the efforts of Chairman New Modern Group of Colleges, Tarun Behl for running 12 educational colleges rendering Yeomen service in the field of education. He asked the student fraternity to adopt good habits and imbibe in themselves with moral ethos as they have to play a vital role in building a strong and progressive nation. Managing Director, SRTC, J.S. Anand, RTO, Jammu, Varinder Slathia and Deputy Director CAPD Romesh Kumar were also honoured for their dedicated services in their restive fields. Among others, President JKFFA, Ved Gandotra, General Secretary, M.R. Bangotra, Vice-President, Ajit Singh, Chairman New Modern Group of Colleges, Tarun Behl, Principal Prof. Siraj-ud-Din Bhat, teachers and students, besides prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
