PAHL motivating street children to join regular classes | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 5: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Jammu Natha Ram Dingra distributed woolen clothes among street and deprived children enrolled under project PAHL, run by Damodhar Satri Udyog sanstha in a simple ceremony on Wednesday. Clothes had been collected by the volunteers of project PAHL for distribution among poor children to ensure that they do not suffer from ill effects of intense cold wave conditions. Apprising CEO about project PAHL, Secretary of Sanstha Sunita Chandra said the aim of the project PAHL is to motivate street and under privileged children to join regular classes or educate themselves up to primary level. During her brief presentation, Sunita Chandra also raised the issue of hardships faced by the children from outside the state before getting admission in any of the state government school. She said that in the absence of discharge certificates, most of the children belonging to labour class fail to get admissions here in Jammu. On the occasion, Dingra assured members of the project PAHL that he would personally look in to the issue of admissions of these children and also directed them to submit a comprehensive list of children with details of their academic record to ensure that deserving children would be accommodated in the nearest govt run schools. Project PAHL teachers Sukanya Chib,Arti Jatwar, Seema Bhan interacted with CEO and briefed him about activities of project PAHL.(eom)
