| HUM militant killed in police encounter | | | JAMMU | NOV 7
Doda police has claimed to eradicate one militant of HUM outfit during a search operation in the Budhi Joura area falling under the jurisdiction of Gandoh police station. According to information received from police sources, on specific information about the presence of militants in the area, Police triggered a search operation during which militants opened indiscriminate fire on the police party. Police also retaliated and during this mutual exchange of fire on militant was killed. The slain militant has been identified as Shabir Ahmed alias Abu Abrar S/O Abdul Rashid R/O Bani Trenkhal Gandoh and he was working for HUM outfit.
Police has also confirmed that the slain militant was deserted SPO who absconded from Thathri on 20th of April this year along with one AK 47 rifle, 3magzines, 1 wireless set and joined HUM militant outfit for which a case under FIR number 13/2006 was registered at police station Thathri. No casualty from police side was reported. Search operation was going on in the area and police are expecting more success.
