A two days long workshop on capacity building of NGO’s organized by Social Work and Rural Development Society Bumnal and sponsored by regional committee CAPART Chandigarh, was inaugurated by Member of Legislative Assembly Bishnah , here today. The workshop started with the lighting of traditional lamp by MLA Ashwani Sharma and RR and MC CAPART Chandigarh RB Singh.
While addressing the activists of various volunteer organizations, MLA Sharma appreciated the step taken by Social Work and Rural organization and stated that such efforts must be encouraged in the interest of all round development of the nation. “In my constituency NGO’s have done a wonderful job and still they are doing commendable work” said Sharma. He further said that keeping in view contributions of NGO’s in the interest of national interest, Government of India must allocate more funds to them. He also assured every possible help to such Volunteer organizations.
Speaking over the tentative programme schedule, Singh said that volunteers hailing from various social organizations will be updated about the various rural developmental and other beneficiary schemes run by CAPART and Central government.
On the occasion an interactive session was also organized in which the representatives of different organizations discussed various queries with the members of CAPART.
Among other resource persons who were present on the occasion were President SWRD, Rajinder Khajuria, Rakesh Sharma, Nisha Virk, Joginder Walia and Pooja Bhalla etc.
