Forest graduates blame govt of neglect | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU Jan.6: All Jammu and Kashmir Unemployed Forestry Graduates Association (AJKUFGA) held a protest demonstration against the State Government for giving low points to forest graduates and post graduates in comparison to 12th pass students. Addressing media persons, president of the association Afaq Parvaiz said that there are 500 un-employed forest graduates and post graduates who can serve the department professionally, but SSRB recently advertised 279 posts of foresters and forest protection inspector and that too with minimum eligibility of 12th pass. He said that every year government is conducting B.Sc and M.Sc forestry entrance through Board of Professional Entrance Examination for 12th pass science students and then send the selected candidates to different professional colleges for pursing their degrees. “If 12th passed candidates would be given preference what is the need for running the higher degree courses in both the streams”, Parvaiz said. He also said that government is forcing them to come on roads as most of the degree holders have touched the upper age limit. Association has urged the state government to do the needful to save the future of 500 families who are on starvation from the last 10 years after completing their degrees. Other who participated in the protest demonstration included its Vice President Sahil Pandoh along with other forestry graduates and post graduates.
