Sandhu Club Ludhiana enters QFs of T20 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Jan 06: Sandhu Cricket Club Ludhiana defeated MCC-B Jammu by 84 runs to move into the next round of quarterfinals in the ongoing DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here today. Batting first after winning the toss, Sandhu Club set a target of 156 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 19 overs. In reply, MCC-B bowled out for 71 runs. Struggling at 30 for five, Sandhu Club recovered after Afzal and Sukhwinder together added 95 runs for the sixth wicket partnership. While Afzal made 47 (off 28 balls, 3x4, 3x6) runs, Sukhwinder contributed 44 studded with four hits to the fence. Jaswinder also played well adding 27 runs to the total. From MCC-B, Sajjad was most successful bowler with four wickets for 27 runs. Later, MCC-B could not chase the total and lost all their wickets for 71 runs. Musthaq was main scorer with 18 runs coming off nine balls. Buta clinched four important wickets to guide Sandhu Club to a big win. For his match winning spell of four for 15 in four overs, Buta was adjudged man of the match. Today’s match was officiated by Mohan Lal and Sandeep as umpires while KB Singh was scorer.
