CS chairs Coordination Committee meeting on urban reforms | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 6: A coordination committee meeting constituted to oversee the implementation of urban reforms in the state held here today The meeting, which was chaired by Chief Secretary S S Kapur, reviewed the roadmap for effecting comprehensive urban reforms and development and discussed various measures to be taken up for speeding up the implementation mechanism. The chief secretary took stock of the status of the process underway for the purpose. Chief Secretary underlined the need for comprehensive developmental reforms to ensure balanced and disciplined development of urban areas in consonance with the present day needs. He said that the coordination committee needs to time line it’s working to work out reforms to the existing laws. Kapur said that urban reforms and development will help empower our local bodies and implementation of development schemes as per the aspirations of the people. The chief secretary held detailed deliberations with the committee members and concerned officers and asked them to identify areas requiring immediate attention and focus and directed for optimizing time lines by which urban reforms agenda can be adopted in the state. The meeting was also attended by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister BB Vyas, Principal Secretary PHE AK Angurana, Commissioner Secretary Housing Suresh Kumar and Commissioner Secretary, Finance Sudhanshu Pandey.
