CS chairs census meeting, second phase to start in February | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 6: Urging for completion of census operation in time, the Chief Secretary S S Kapur directed education department to provide the list and issue appointment orders to enumerators and supervisors and relieve them for training and census duty well in time so that the census process is completed in time. He also asked Commissioner Secretaries to ensure the process of preparation of AHL and charge register is completed by 10th of January 2011 in all districts and calendar for training of supervisors/enumerators is finalized and circulated. The meeting also discussed the issue of settlement of honorariums for field functionaries, identification of slums and their delineation, coverage of nomads like Gujjar and bakarwals and inclusion of institutional population in the census operation. In a meeting with the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary, the Census Commissioner Dr C Chandramouli today made a comprehensive power point presentation on the status of census operation under way in the state. The first phase involving house listing and housing census has almost been completed and the second phase which is to start from February 9 will involve population enumeration. The field data from both these phases will be processed and revised. The results at all India levels are to be declared by March 25.The meeting was attended by Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda, Commissioner Secretary Housing, Suresh Kumar, Commissioner Secretary Finance, Sudhanshu Pandey, Commissioner Secretary Gad, M. S. Khan, and other senior level officers of the administration.
