Court rejects bail of accused facing charges of killing deputy AG
1/6/2011 10:17:58 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan: 06:- Second Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Vinod Chatterji Koul today rejected two bail applications filed by the accused involved in killing of Ajit Kumar Dogra the former Deputy Advocate General.
The court after hearing the petitioners and the Special Public Prosecutor observed that keeping in view the principle laid down by the Supreme Court that accused are facing trial for committing murder of Ajit Kumar Dogra, former Deputy Advocate General, and with one of the witnesses having clearly stated about their involvement in the murder which is punishable with death sentence or life imprisonment. Bail cannot be granted.
Giving further grounds, the court said the statements of other witnesses have not been recorded and enlarging the accused on bail may hamper administration of justice.
The grounds taken by the applicants in their application in view of principle are misconceived. The applicants as such are not entitled to be release on bail. JNF
