Pensioners hold protest demonstration on demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Jan 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Pensioners Association held a protest demonstration under the chief organizer of the association I.D Khajuria and the president Mohinder Singh against the government for delaying their pending dues of sixth pay commission from 2006. Both leaders called the coalition government as anti-pensioner, anti-employees, anti- labour and anti-youth and has adopted undemocratic means to deprive the pensioners from getting their legal and democratic rights. They said that the state government was not paying the pending dues of sixth pay commission since 2006 and the pensioners of 2007 and 2008 were still pending to get the gratuity and others . They further demanded that the medical allowance should be increased up to Rs 1000 per month to all the pensioners. Later, they welcomed the initiative taken by the PDP in favour of pensioner’s long pending genuine rights and warned the coalition government to face the dire consequences if the rights of the pensioners are not given in appropriate time.
