Samajwadi party demands new relief commissioner | | | EARLY TIMES RTEPORT JAMMU, Jan.7: Samajwadi Party (SP) today demanded transfer of employees and officers along with Relief Commissioner who have served for more than four years and new appointments in Relief Commissioner Office to redress the long pending and genuine demands of Kashmiri migrants. Addressing a press conference here today, state president Minority Forum (SP) Nana Jee Wattal said that the coalition Government headed by National Conference (NC) instead of solving the basic problems of migrants are making the false slogan for their vote bank like B.J.P. He said that majority of Kashmiri migrants are being deprived of democratic rights and are forced to live miserable lives as they are being exploited by certain vested interests and ruling allied, this is the right time to expose this. He urged the government to grant minority status to Kashmiri Pandits of J&K state, release balance ex-gratia in favor of deserving migrants. Keeping in view inflation government should immediately increase the monthly cash relief to the tune of rupees 12,000 per month, he said. Autonomous body to be made under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu to look into the speedy work at Jagti township and allotment of quarters at Jagti to the camp and non camp deserving migrants. He demanded to the government that allotment of quarters at Jagti be made to the BPL category of migrants on priority basis, and Rs. 25 lacs as compensatation to over aged unemployed youth of migrants as one time settlement. Others present in the press conference included Provincial General secretary R.S. Chouhan, General secretary minority forum Inder jee labroo and senior leader Sheikh Shafi.
