CCI holds interactive session with MPs from J&K

To put forward the genuine demands of the industry and traders of Jammu Chamber of Commerce and industry (CCI), today organized an interactive session with the members of parliament of J&K State at TRG complex here today.
CCI Ram Sahai on behalf of industrialists and traders put forward the burning demands. Before the MP’s. He said since the deregulation of economy since 1990 considerable, progress has been achieved by Indian economy unfortunately J&K due to many handicaps like remote geographical location, limited means od communication limited raw materials, limited market, law and order problem has remained backward he added. He further said that fiscal packages were extended to neighbouring states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttranchal, fresh investment has dwindled in J&K. Uttranchal and Himachal Pradesh has been chosen by industrial giants like Tata, Hero- Honda, Bajaj Auto, Godrej, Hindustan Lever, textile industries of Punjab etc.
Sahai further said that badly due to militancy need some immediate revival investment. Income tax exemption should be granted to existing as well as new industry as in case of HP and Uttranchal ad also extended it further for a period of another 5 years. The extention of Jammu Airport, Air Strip is lying pending which is depriving Jammu of its due place from the map of Air traffic routes. Another demand, he put forward was trade, which is a major activity in the state which has also been hit badly due to militancy needs financial support for promotion and survival upgradation of Jammu Railway Station and introduction of Shatabdi Train and Gareeb Rath Train for Jammu is need of the house.
Chairman Brahmana Bari industries association Satish Koul in this address said that J&K is in need of huge investment.. A mother industry should be established in Jammu so that the educated youth get absorbed which will help to reduce un-employment to a large extent in the state. He further said that, there is s need of Direct foreign investment sotha the state which is lagging behind should come up at par with other industrial staes in the country.
Rajinder Morial, Gen secretary CCI was coordinating the whole session.
Earlier, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah Ch. Lal Singh and T.S Bajwa all MPs were welcomed and were presented with bouquets.
Among other present on the occasion were MLAs Ajay Sadhotra, RAshpal Singh , Sajjad Kitchloo, A.R Rather, Corporator , Bansi Lal Gupta, MLC Brij Mohan Singh, T.S Tony and prominent businessmen of the city.
