Army flags off elders’ tour | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 7: The General Officer Commanding, ‘Ace of Spades Division’ today flagged off a motivational tour of elders to Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai from Keri on January 7, 2011. The tour is being organized by Keri Battalion with an aim to instill a sense of awareness, spread the image of national integration and provide an exposure to the elderly citizens about the pace of economic development and the way of life in other parts of the country. The tour would return on January 18. The twelve day tour would provide opportunity to 15 elderly citizens from the remote areas of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir to visit industrial, religious and historically important places in Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. They would also get an opportunity to interact with prominent political leaders, senior officers of the Army as well as common men at these places. The elders would fly from Delhi to Hyderabad which would be a rare life time experience for them. The elders expressed their gratitude to the Army for giving them a chance to visit these economically advanced, historically and religiously important places. They consider it to be a ‘God sent opportunity’ and shall comeback enriched with experience and knowledge.
