| PDC Mechanical Wing flouts official norms, promotes JEs by surpassing senior engineers | | |

JAMMU, Jan7: Flouting all standing service rules and norms the authorities in Power Development Corporation Kashmir have made diploma holder junior engineers as officiating Assistant Executive Engineers while ignoring the degree holder Assistant Executive Engineers.
According to sources Chief Engineer Mechanical Wing of PDC Kashmir had made some diploma holder JEs as officiating AEEs way back in 1993 and since then they have been continuing on the said post while the degree holder as well as diploma holder AEs who are senior in cadre grade than the diploma holder JEs are working under them.
Sources said some of these JEs working as officiating AEEs in the organisation have become so powerful that they manage the transfer of any official or engineer whosoever they like and despite the fact that the issue has been brought in the notice of higher ups in Government the authorities have failed to take any cognisance of the same.
Sources said as per the standing norms and service rules the senior most officer is entitled to be promoted as an officiating officer in case of the available vacancy. But the Chief Engineer Mechanical wing has flouted all norms and allowed some JEs to work as AEE for about two decades in his organisation.
This prima facie reveals that the authorities in PDC have malicious intensions otherwise hoe the JEs given such an important assignment were continued to work at a single place for about two decades while others were transferred from the organisation even before completing their tenure, sources said.
Sources said one of such JEs who is working on the post as AEE has become so influential that he manages transfer of any engineer from the organisation at his sweet will.
Sources said there is such a mess in the organization that an Executive Engineer who was promoted as Superintending Engineer some months back continues to hold the charge as Executive Engineer of the same Division where he was previously posted. The Xen has such a nexus with higher ups that the authorities are not posting his reliever for months together, sources added.
Sources said the lawlessness in the organisation has led to a lot of resentment among engineers as well as working class in the organization. The employees are perturbed over the role of authorities who on the behest of these JEs have transferred many engineers from the organisation even before the completion of their stipulated term in the organization |
