| Mubarak Mandi body discusses constitution | | | Jammu, November 08 Minister for Road and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak today chaired a high powered meeting to discuss Constitution and by laws for the Mubarik Mandi Heritage Society. The meeting deliberated thoroughly on the Constitution of the society. The aims and objects of society will be initiate necessary measures for the preservation of Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex and restore its original grandeur, use the complex for various cultural heritage oriented activities to create awareness about the preservation of cultural treasures of the state in various forms for posterity. The meeting discussed execution of restoration/preservation of the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex which will be done in collaboration with various departments/institutions under the over all supervision of society and to conduct the documentation of all buildings of the complex and made a comprehensive photo-documentation thereof. The meeting discussing that the society will arrange lectures, workshops and conferences in different fields of cultural heritage and other related activities in rural and urban areas and set up committees advisory and supervisory bodies for the smooth functioning of the society. The society will be non-profit making in character. All incomes and properties of the society shall be applied solely towards the promotion of its aims and objects only as set forth in the constitution and no portion thereof, shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly, the meeting maintained. The Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad shall be Ex-officio chairman of the society. The managing committee shall meet at least twice in the year to transact business. Notice of one weak shall be given to the members for these meetings. The chairman may call any extra ordinary meeting giving a notice of 24-hours at the minimum to members of the managing committee; quorum for the meeting of this society shall be one third of the total members of the Managing Committee, subject to a minimum of three members. Mr. Charak said to restore the glory of the Mubarak Mandi work would be started very soon. He said that the office for the Society would be opened in the premises of Mubarak Mandi. He further informed the meeting that line departments have been entrusted different works for execution of necessary repairs and renovation. The meeting was attended by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Commissioner Secretary Higher Education, District Development Commissioner Jammu, Director Estates, Director Archives and other senior officers of various departments. |
