Govt committed to provide accountable administration: Itoo | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KULGAM, Jan 8: Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, Saturday said that it is the fundamental principle of democracy that the people vote and elect the government which in turn gives them transparent and accountable administration. Stressing for keeping an eagle’s eye on the administration, Sakina reiterated that no stone will remain unturned in providing transparent and accountable administration to the people. The Minister was speaking at a function organized by Social Welfare Department at Matibugh Homeshali Bugh today. On the occasion, the Minister also distributed cheques worth Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand among 15 deserving widows and orphans under National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS). Sakina also distributed appointment orders among 15 candidates who have been appointed as Anganwari Workers Speaking on the occasion the Minister said, that our Government has completed two years but that time is not enough to assess the performance of any government, however, during this little period the government has done tremendous job which can be gauged at the ground level. “Since last two decades of militancy , the graph of orphans and widows; and a special group(destitute) among the Kashmir’s has arisen , who are in dire need for financial support ,” Minister said, adding that Social Welfare department supports the needy people without the distinction of any race, creed or colour. The Minister directed DC Kulgam to streamline the working of CAPD, PDD, PHE and Rural Development Departments in the district, so that people get benefited by different schemes without facing inconvenience.
