Peerzada, Bhalla lay foundation stone of Teachers’ Bhawan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 8: Minister for School Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed in presence of Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla today laid foundation stone of multipurpose ‘Teachers Bhawan’ at Government Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 316.40 lakh. The proposed Bhawan would be constructed on 10902 square feet area having three seater bed rooms, dormitory, dining hall, kitchen, store, cook room, guest room and reception office. Addressing the gathering, Sayeed said that on the completion of the Bhawan, the teachers’ trainings and exhibitions would be held in the complex. He asked the Housing Board authorities to complete the building by January 2012. The Minister said Central Government has allocated Rs 60 crore under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) for opening and upgrading of High and Higher Secondary Schools in every constituency of the State with latest infrastructural facilities. He said 69 new schools would be set up across the state adding that Rs. 36 lakh would be spent on each school. Responding to the demand of Revenue Minister, the Minister asked the Housing Board authorities to prepare a site plan for construction of auditorium on the available land in Government Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar, for which he announced Rs 5 crore. Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla thanked the School Education Minister for the approval of Teachers’ Bhawan in his constituency and said coalition Government is making concerted efforts to provide all infrastructural facilities to the students with the provision for quality education to enable them compete on national and international levels. To ease rush in city schools, he said Government has opened 12 new schools in Gandhi Nagar constituency so that they students could get education at their doorstep institutions.
