| Bhowani wins inter-village volleyball tourney | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 08: Bhowani village defeated Laroka village in the final of the inter-village volleyball tournament played at village Kalsian in Nowshera tehsil of district Rajouri.
In the final and prize distribution function, Commander of Tithwal Brigade gave away winners and runners up trophies as also medals and cash awards.
In all, 30 teams from nearby villages of Nowshera took part in this two-day competition which was conducted by Jhangar Battalion of the Tithwal Brigade of Indian Army.
The event was organised to instill the spirit of sportsmanship and to inculcate a
sense of competitiveness and victory among the villagers.
Earlier, the villagers were provided with the sports accessories and coach to train and prepare them for competition. Rules and minor technicalities of the game were also brought to the notice of the participants.
Among others present in the final were Mohd Din, district officer, Trilok Singh, Zonal Education Officer and Mohinder Lal, Deputy Chief Education Officer of Nowshera.
