Shabir inspects work on Dungri-Namblan road | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JAN 08:-Minister of State for Power, Transport, CA&PD Forest and Environment, Shabir Ahmad Khan today visited remote and far-flung areas of Rajouri district and took stock of problems of the people. At Namblan, the Minister held a public darbar and the people of the area apprised him about various problems being faced by them especially the supply of power and shortage of drinking water. The Minister inspected a water supply scheme at Namblan taken up under NRWDP at an estimated cost of Rs 1.56 crore. An amount of Rs 0.48 crore has been expanded on the project so far. The Minister directed the concerned agencies to complete the project within stipulated timeframe to solve the problem of shortage of potable drinking water in the area. He also inspected under construction 4 kms road from Dungri-Namblan being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.66 crore. He underscored the need of early completion of said road. Later, the Minister chaired a valedictory function of an awareness programme on water management organized by the Research Centre SUKAST (Rajouri) for the farmers of the area.
