| Qayoom remanded to 3 day police custody | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan: 08 :- Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu MS Parihar today granted three day custodial remand of Mian Abdul Qayoom President Bar Association Kashmir who was booked by Gharota Police Under FIR No 107/2010 dated November 30, 2010 U/Ss 120-B, 121, 121-A, 124-A RPC r/w section 13 unlawful Activities Preventive Act.
Qayoom was produced before the Court of CJM Jammu today by SDPO Akhnoor and SHO P/S Gharota for seeking police remand of 15 days.
The court while granting 3 day remand observed that the accused has been arrested in FIR NO 107/2010 as per the police dairy by the police station Gharota on January 7, 2011. In the application it has been stated that the accused is required by the police in order to complete the investigation in the case.
Court considered the prayer of the police made in the application for seeking police custody of the accused. The investigation in the case is initial stage and in view of the allegations made, Court is of the opinion that there are adequate grounds for remanding the accused to police custody.
The Court also directed SDPO Akhnoor Mustaq Ahmed Choudhary to provide all the medical assistance to the accused. “He should be also provided medicines prescribed by the doctors for his treatment”, the Court ordered. The Court further directed the police to get the accused medically examined after every 24 hours. . JNF
