| National Voters Day to be celebrated on Jan 25 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, JAN 08- Election Commissioner of India (ECI) is celebrating January 25, as “National Voters Day” to educate the people about the importance of voter in the democracy and their greater participation for a stronger democracy, particularly the young prospective voters.
The District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma informed that Election Commissioner has expressed its desire in celebrating the National Voters Day in the colleges and schools to educate the youth, to ensure their mass registration in the electoral rolls and their greater participation in the election. He said on the occasion, various functions will be conducted on that day which include creating awareness among the citizens to come forward and get the eligible electors registered well in time and get their Electoral Photo Identity Cards and “Proud to be a Voter-Ready to Vote, display like hoardings, kiosks, posters, pamphlets.
