Niaz demands firewood, kerosene supply | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Bhaderwah, Jan 8: Former minister and MLA Bhaderwah Mohammad Sharief Niaz has demanded supply of firewood, kerosene, ration, electricity and healthcare facilities to snow affected areas of Bhaderwah. Niaz visited snow affected areas of Malothi, Panjgrain, Bachakpura, Chanti, Tatora, Khellani, Sungli, Sartingal, Udrana, Balla, Maal Nai and Darbang and met a number of public delegations enroute. The people complained of acute shortage of firewood, kerosene, ration, drinking water, electricity and proper medicare facilities during past some days. They said the local administration was suffering a lot due to inadequate response by the district administration in view of the recent snowfall. The daily wagers of Sartingal informed that they have not been paid wages for last more than 2 and half years. Mohd Sharief Niaz convened a meeting of the concerned officers and asked them to prepare detailed project reports of new schemes and submit it to the government besides immediately taking care of the needs of the people of the area. He also demanded rationalizing the rates of the firewood as poor people cannot afford the existing rates announced by the government. Niaz demanded regularization of daily wagers who have completed seven years in service and enhancing the wages of PHE casual workers who are paid Rs. 500 to Rs.3000 to bring it at par with those in Kashmir valley. He also rued over shortage of doctors in the hospital and dispensaries and asked the government to immediately post doctors against the vacant posts especially posting of lady doctors in the rural areas. He also demanded ENT doctor in the Bhaderwah hospital.
