Two-day Birth Centenary celebrations of Mother Teresa concludes

Jammu, Jan 9: The two day birth centenary celebration of Mother Teresa organized by Jay Kay Women Welfare Society Jammu concluded today
K.K Kichloo special secretary Social Welfare Govt. of Jammu was the chief guest whereas Savita Bakshi additonal secretary of J&K Academy, of Art, Culture and Languages, presided over the function.
Laxmi Datta provincial women wing, National Conference, Eng. N.S Bali CEO Jammu Urban Development Agency, Sh S. M Gill ex. MLC, and Narinder Sharma and Gulam-Mohi-din Secy. Congress (Jammu& Kashmir) were the Guest of honors.
Kichloo in his address said Mother Teresa took life as a mission and sacrificed for the same for the upliftment of the poor , indigent , sick, orphaned and dieing with selfless services. She has been praised by many individual, Govt. and organizations.
In view of her services, the India Govt. bestowed her Bharat Ratna in 1980. She also was awarded with Nobel Prize in 1979. She also set an example of sacrifice by rendering her services to the mankind.
Savita Bakshi, also highlighted the selfless services of Mother Teresa. She also stressed that today the souls like Teresa is needed so that the sufferer of disease, oppressed, suppressed may be cured properly.
S.M Gill ex-MLC and guest of honor of the programme, also spoke and highlighted the services rendered by Mother Teresa to the oppressed, especially leprosy and tuberculosis, children and family counseling programme .
Avineesh Sharma presented a research paper in detail on the life and achievement of Mother Teresa.
Earlier Sudhir Mahajan, while welcoming the guests, gave a full account of activities undertaken by the Jay Kay Women Welfare Society, Jammu. He also gave the detail of several projects being undertaken by the society for the upliftment of the girl child.
A Musical programme by Ram Ditta and party , Garu Ram & party literary papers followed by multi lingual Mushairas were also presented on the occasion
The prominent who recited their poems included KK Shakir, Daya Ram Daya, Rakesh Sharma Tripta , Ram Pal Sharma , Rakesh Sarkar , Sushil Begana Sanjeev Gupta and M. S Kaawla.
