Farooq has unmasked the fickleness of his nationalism: BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Jan 9: Coming down heavily on NC president and Union Minister Faroq Abdullah for his recent utterances on ‘Rashtriya Ekta Yatra’ and hoisting of national tricolor at Lal Chowk on Republic Day, BJP said that it has only unmasked the fickleness of his nationalism. In a meeting held here today to review the Rashtriya Ekta Yatra programme, BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas said, “Farooq Abdullah should have welcomed it considering the free run that the stone pelters and their ilk had for six months in the valley, so that all nationalist people in the valley feel encouraged and get their morale boosted. The saddest aspect of Abdullah’s utterances is the total negative message that he has conveyed to all those people from the rest of the country who intended to visit valley as tourists and has caused economic damage to valley which is already reeling under the aftermath of stone pelters’ activities”. The BJP chief reminded Farooq Abdullah that he having remained CM of the state couple of times and at present holding a cabinet berth in Union Ministry should know that Constitution does not bar any one from hoisting national flag and celebrating Republic Day any where in India and he being a Constitutional authority should facilitate and not condemn it. He expressed hope that good sense will prevail and the leaders of NC would encourage it instead of throttling it The leaders of various unit of BJP discussed various ways and means for success of the programmes. Chander Prakash Ganga, Satish Sharma, Sat Sharma , Yudhvir Sethi, Balbir Ram, Ashwani Bali, Rajesh Gupta, Kuldeep Magotra, Rajinder Sharma, Karan Singh, Chaman Lal Kanathia, Priya Sethi, Jaideep Sharma, Aseem Gupta, Sanjay Baru, Parimoksh Seth, Adarsh Kumar, Sanjay Khanna, Munish Khajuria, Rajiv Charak, Munish Singh, Arun Chibber and Ramnik Gupta were present in the meeting.
