DGP for channelizing, polishing talent of physically challenged | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 9: In order to create awareness among the masses about physically challenged children, Jammu and Kashmir Police organized a cultural evening at Police Auditorium Gulshan Ground here this evening. The progamme was organized in collaboration with some orphanages and various schools for disabled of Jammu. Children from these orphanage and schools participated in the scintillating cultural evening namely New Horizon, in which various cultural items were presented which enthralled the audience. Speaking on the occasion, the Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda said that physically challenged people are a part of our society and need our proper attention by way of providing them equal opportunities of development and exploiting their hidden talent. He called upon the civil society to come forward in a big way to help this under-privileged class of this society. “There are several instances that physically challenged persons outshined in various fields of life,” Khoda added. He said that these people should not feel ignored by the civil society and should be encouraged at all levels to further their confidence and polish their talent. They can prove their talent in many fields of life, if guided properly, he said it is our social and moral responsibility to provide a helping hand to the physically challenged people. He said that the JK Police has been providing every possible assistance to various orphanages and disabled organizations in the shape of dietary items, clothing, steady material including computers, tricycles etc. The Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Police Officers Wives Welfare Association, Dr. Indu Khoda, who was the Chief Guest, also interacted with these children and wished them a bright future.
