Speaker lays foundation of two hospital buildings | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT BANDIPORA, Jan 9: Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone laid foundation stones of two hospital buildings for primary health centre at Madwan and Community Health Centre, Hajan here today. The buildings costing Rs 13.35 crore would be constructed by Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board. The Speaker addressed largely attended public meetings at Madwan and Hajan and appealed the people to rise above the party politics and work jointly for the development and welfare of the state. He reiterated governments resolve to ensure equitable development of all the three regions adding that several measures for providing basic amenities like health, education, power, road connectivity and drinking water to the people have been initiated Referring to unemployment problem, Lone said that the government has already introduced historical Sher-e-Kashmir Employment Welfare Package saying that this historical package would go a long way in tackling the challenge of unemployment. He appealed the educated youth to come forward in a big way and avail the benefits of this package. The speaker announced that Rs. One crore would be released for constructing the protection bund on the Jehlum river near Hajan market. He also said that the proposal of setting up of Women’s College in Hajan is under the consideration of the government adding that the matter with regard to Tehsil status for Hajan would be taken up with the Delimitation Commission. Mohammad Akbar Lone assured the people at Madwan that the demands put forth by them will be sympathetically considered and all possible steps would be taken in this behalf.
