KPs justify flag hoisting, announce support to BJP call | | | JAMMU, Jan 9: Kashmiri Pandits have taken serious exception to the objections raised by Congress and National Conference (NC) to the BJP's decision to hoist the National Tricolour in Lal Chowk Srinagar of Kashmir Valley. Various KP organizations have not only justified the move but extended their full support to it. The leaders of various KP organisations including Kashmiri Pandit conference (KPC) Roots in Kashmir (RiK) J&K, Jammu and Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) and BJP Migrant Cell have taken serious exception to the statements of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and PCC chief Saif-ud-Din Soz who have criticised the BJP for launching a nationwide rally to hoist Tricolour in Srinagar on this year's Republic Day. Justifying the BJP decision the KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri said that by opposing the BJP's move chief minister was speaking the language of separatists. ``There is no harm in hoisting of National flag by any Indian anywhere in the country'', he added. He said it is unfortunate that instead of supporting the nationalist forces for hoisting the, National Flag in Kashmir , Mr Abdullah was trying to appease the separatists and militants who vitiated the atmosphere in the state for last 21 years. The statement of both Mr Abdullah and PCC chief Saif-ud-Din Soz who accused BJP of making a Tamasha by hoisting National Flag in Kashmir is unfortunate. Accusing both Congress and NC as main cause for the present turmoil in Kashmir, Kashmiri said that people of the Valley have been misled by the two parties for their vested interests giving an opportunity to separatists and Pakistan to exploit the situation to their advantage. Kashmiri while ridiculing the statement of union Minister and NC patriarch Dr Farooq Abdullah on his belated statement seeking apology from KPs for their forced exodus from Valley said it is better late than never. The RIK J&K convener Vir Saraf while justifying the hoisting of National Flag in Kashmir said KPs as the indigenous people from valley will also join this yatra to make it clear to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and others who oppose such a move that Kashmir is an integral part of India. Saraf said BJP is fully justified in its action and RIK as well as other like minded KP organisations will also participate in the rally to silence the separatists and anti-national elements voice in the Valley. He while expressing his surprise over the statement of Dr Farooq Abdullah said, former JK CM has shed the crocodile tears many times in past over the displaced pundits plight and sought the apology from the community. But later he changed the statement saying that Pandits fled on the behest of former Governor of State Mr Jagmohan. It was not only Dr Abdullah but one of his party senior leaders had reportedly said to former Union Finance Minister that Pandits left the Valley in search of green pastures and were not forced by the militants to flee from valley, he said. Supporting Saraf's views Migrant Cell BJP general secretary , B B Gosani said that even congress spokesman was on record to say that Jagmohan forced the Pandits to flee from Valley while giving a clean chit to militants and separatists. He accused both congress and NC for politicising the issue by forgetting their prime responsibilities. |
