KBA Chief remanded to judicial custody

Jammu, Jan 10 :- The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Jammu, MS Parihar today rejected the prayer of the police for further custodial remand of Mian Abdul Qayoom ,President Kashmir Bar Association and ordered judicial remand for fourteen days.
The SDPO Akhnoor Mustaq Ahmed Choudhary and SHO Gharota Bhushan Singh Manhas produced Qayoom in the court today with an application seeking further custodial remand for investigation of the case.
The court after perusing the application and case diaries observed that accused has been arrested on November 30, 2010 U/S 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy), 121 (Waging or attempting to wage war, or abetting the waging of war against the Govt), 121-A Conspiracy to Commit Certain offences against the state), 124-A RPC (Sedition) and section 13 Unlawful Activities Act. The accused has remained in police custody since January 7, 2011 and according to the CD File, he has co-operated with the police during investigation of the case. According to the medical report of GMC Hospital Jammu, the accused is suffering from various ailments and requires proper medical treatment.
The court after hearing both the sides rejected the police application and remanded to the accused to judicial custody for 14 days. As per the court direction, Qayoom shall be lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu and be produced on the said date before the Court for further orders.
The court directed the Superintendent Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu to provide all the medical assistance/treatment to the accused under rules. The court further directed the jail authorities to get the accused medically examined after every 24 hours. JNF
