1/10/2011 9:40:52 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU Jan 10: The Purohit Sabha Martand Improvement Charitable Trust held a meeting at Surya Bhawan, Paloura under the presidentship of M K Yogi.
In the meeting, it was unanimously resolved that the compensation released by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board in favour of 184 shareholders will be deposited in the Bank in the trust account. It was further suggested in the meeting that the list of shareholders, as published by the Shrine Board, is incomplete in many respects and it was decided that a comprehensive and detailed supplementary list of all the genuine shareholders will be prepared after consultations with the elders and office-bearers of the Sabha and the same will be forwarded to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board for further necessary action.
It was also held that the Trust will appeal to the Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board to release the compensation held up with the Board since 2004 and the same should be deposited in the Account of the Trust alongwith the interest component without further delay.
The President of the Sabha, M K Yogi requested the Board to extend the last date for claiming compensation in favour of 184 shareholders to further two months as most of the Trust members are residing outside the State. Moreover, it was also suggested that the Board should also consider giving monetary benefits, every year, to the Martand Biradari, which has been running this Trust since 1949.
The General Secretary of the Trust, Veer Jee Pandita has requested the Shrine Board to consider allotting stalls to the members of biradari at appropriate sites all along the Yatra routes from Baltal as well as Pahalgam during the Yatra period. Besides, it was also resolved in the meeting that the Shrine Board will also be approached with a request from Biradari to consider giving employment to the youth of the Martand Biradari in various places which are being run and managed by the Shrine Board.
Later, M K Yogi thanked the Biradari for showing their full faith and cooperation to the Purohit Sabha Martand Trust .
