| Arrangements for R-Day reviewed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, JAN 10- Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal today convened a meeting of officers of various departments today to review the arrangements for Republic Day celebrations.
District Magistrate, Sanjeev Verma, DIG Farooq Khan, SSP Security Shakeel Ahmed Beig, Joint Director Information Soujanya Sharma, Joint Commissioner Municipality Babu Ram, RTO Jammu Virender Salathia, SP Traffic Jammu Zahid Manhas, Personnel Officer, Directorate of Education, Nirupa Rai, XEN PHE S. C. Nanda, officers of Police, Army and other departments were also present in the meeting.
The meeting was apprised that thousands of students from various schools and colleges would participate in the ensuing Republic Day celebrations. Kotwal asked the concerned officers to ensure proper transport facilities to students and keep adequate number of buses available for ferrying them to and fro the venue.
Dr Kotwal also discussed various security arrangements to be made for the smooth and incident free celebration of Republic Day -2011.
