JMC conducts anti-encroachment drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 10: The Enforcement wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted an anti-encroachment drive and demolished illegally raised structures in the different areas of the city. The staff of Enforcement wing led by Chief Enforcement Officer, JMC Satish Khajuria along with the police force from Police Station Bus Stand while further continuing and intensifying the anti encroachment drive, conducted the drive within the areas falling under the jurisdiction of Bus Stand Police Station. During the drive the team seized about 12 number truck loads of material, goods / articles including 32 of rehries which were found stationary violation the terms and conditions of the rehri license and causing obstruction to the free flow of vehicular traffic and pedestrians and also Counters, Racks, Tables, Stoves, Utensils, Stools, Sign Boards etc and impounded the seized material to the Municipal Store / Yard. The team also removed about 50 vendors from the footpaths / pavements in order to clear them from the encroachments. Besides this, the enforcement staff also demolished the ongoing unauthorized construction of shop at Maharaja Gulab Singh Road near Exhibition Ground, Jammu. The Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the shopkeepers to keep their goods within their shops/establishments to avoid seizure of these goods and penalty for such defaults. The Rehari owners are also asked to keep their reharies mobile as the stationary reharies are source of obstruction for the free flow of vehicular traffic and also cause inconvenience to the pedestrians. The drive was carried out under instructions from JMC, Commissioner, SC Sawhney.
