ASHOK KHAJURIA IN HOT SEAT
ROAD AHEAD IS NOT ROSY

Jammu, November 8
Fire brand BJP legislator Ashok Khajuria, former legislator was today elected as state BJP chief at a impressive function here at BJP headquarters amid loud sloganeering and drum beating by jubilant party workers.
Though party high command had already cleared Khajurias name but factions with in the state BJP unit had forced party high command to rush senior party leaders to Jammu to defuse the impending crisis with in the state BJP unit before the election process got underway.
On Tuesday after two sets of nomination papers were filed by party leaders in favour of Ashok Khajuria it meant end of the road for front runner Kavinder Gupta,former Mayor.
Finally on Wednesday, at the appointed hour National observer and former Punjab BJP Chief Prof Brij Lal Rinwa in the presence of outgoing state BJP Chief Dr Nirmal Singh, former Presidents Prof Chamanal Lal Gupta, DK Kotwal, former Haryana Governor Babu Parmanad and several other senior party leaders announced election of Ashok Khajuria for full three year term.
"I declare Ashok Khajuria elected unopposed for a term of three years",Rinwa said amidst loud cheer by party workers.
Immediately after large number of party workers greeted new state chief with garlands,sweets and warm hugs. Ashok Khajuria was handed over the customary head gear,'pagdi' by out going BJP chief DrNirmnal Singh who wished him good luck for the long innings ahead.
Dr Nirmal Singh in his brief speech said, I am leaving office of state BJP chief as a contended man. I am satisfied with my performance and extend my gratitude towards senior party leaders who supported me throughout my term.
Addressing party workers, who were present in large number senior leaders including Prof Chaman Lal Gupta and DK Kotwal,Babau Parmanand advised them to stay united and work hard towards strengthening hands of new party president Ashok Khajuria.
In the end Ashok Khajuria in his first address trained his guns on state Chief Minister GhulamNabi Azad and his predecessors for raking slogans of greater autonomy and self rule.
He said BJP would launch an aggressive public campiagn to expose these leaders.
Khajuria also listed his priorities and said he will announce his team of office bearers with in few days.I will forcefully carry forward the agenda of the BJP with all my sincerity,he concluded.
