J&K planning commercialization of custodian properties | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 11: Jammu and Kashmir government has formulated a comprehensive plan for construction of government offices, shopping complexes and flats on available land of the custodian department across the State for making these recurring sources for revenue generation. This was announced by Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla Minister while chairing a meeting of officers of Evacuee Property (EP) at his residence, here this morning. Interacting with the officers, Bhalla informed that government has earmarked Rs. 18 crore for construction of custodian complex on the available 9 kanal land on Indira Gandhi Road at Peer Bagh in Hyderpora. Bhalla also announced Rs. 5 crore for construction of multipurpose community hall with shopping complex facilities at Udhaywala in Jammu. He asked Evacuee Property (EP) authorities to complete the tender and other formalities so that the construction works on these could be started. He asked the officers to prepare a site plan for construction of EP 48 flats at Sharkar Meen on 23 kanal available land, for which Rs. 2.88 cr is available under self-financing scheme. He said that 30 flats costing Rs. 2 crore are being completed in Sarkar Meen in Samba district and handed over to Estates Department for the use of darbar move employees. Minister said that guidelines have been issued for streamlining working of the EP department to Custodian General adding powers also for granting the approvals for improvement works have been delegated to Custodian General.
