Chib announces on-spot recruitment in prestigious companies

JAMMU, Jan 11: Directorate of Technical Education will hold ‘placement fair’ from January 14th to 22nd at Government Polytechnic College, Jammu and on January 15th and 18th at ITI Srinagar and K. G. Polytechnic Srinagar for on spot recruitment of 700 diploma/ITI/MES-SDI pass outs.
This was announced by Minister for Technical Education R.S.Chib in a press conference here today. Chib said prestigious companies will hold interview during the placement fairs for adjustment of 700 technically trained youth in their establishments across the country. In a related move, he disclosed that government will sponsor 16000 young boys and girls for training in ITIs within and outside the state under the skill development initiative.
Chib said that country is aware about the serious problem of unemployment and keeping the same in view, Union Ministry of Human Resource Development and Ministry of Labour and Employment have started to focus on technical and vocational education to increase employability. “I also feel that vocational training, diploma courses, certificate and engineering courses have become important in current global job market and training young technically will help them access private sector easily or formulate their own projects”, Chib said.
“Central government as a special gesture has agreed to train our young students in various ITIs of the country, and 8000 selected students will be imparted training this year and another batch of 8000 will be trained in 2011-12. Out of these 6000 young boys and girls will be sent to various ITIs outside the state and 2000 trained within the state for which project outlay is Rs 23.08 crore,” added Chib. Secretary Youth Services and Sports B. A. Runiyal, Director Technical Education Ajit Sahu and Director Information Khawaja Farooq Renzu Shah were present at the press meet.
