| Woman among 2 killed in JK | | | Srinagar, November 8 A woman aged 50 years was shot dead by unidentified gun men in the outskirts at Sopore, while as one civilian was injured during landmine explosions at Tral and Awantipora in Pulwama district. Meanwhile a militant was killed during an encounter at Handwara. A group of unidentified gun men, according to reports reaching here, shot dead a 50 year old woman Raja Begum alias Raja Kuty W/O Late mohd Yousuf Mir at Warpora Sopore at around 8.00 A.M . However the reasons of her killing could not be ascertained. Meanwhile an unidentified militant was killed during an encounter with army at Darangiyari Rajwar Handwara. The recovery of arms and ammunition from the slain militant is being claimed. A land mine planed by militants near railway track at Gulzarpora Awantipora exploded with a big bang in the afternoon, when a CRPF patrol party was passing through the area and Ab Salam Bhat S/O Gh Mohd R/O Reshipora Awantipora was injured and shifted to hospital immediately. A similar landmine exploded on Kehleel-Tral road at around 11.15 A.M, but no damage was done. Meanwhile Hizb spokesman Junaid-ul-Islam while claiming the responsibility for both the landmine explosions said six troopers were killed and one injured at Tral and Awantipora. |
