| Shop gutted in fire at Gujjar Nagar | | | Jammu: A devastating fire this morning gutted an electrical goods shop at Gujjar Nagar here. The incident created panic in the densely populated locality which has a series of houses and shops in the close vicinity of the burnt shop.
Due to fire, 3-4 handy gas cylinders also exploded in the shop, police sources said.
Three fire tenders were immediately pressed into service and it took them around one hour to control the fire. The shop was completely gutted, but there was no injury or loss of life.
The timely action of firemen prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby shops and houses, the sources added. Short circuit was stated to be the reason behind the incident. |
