Channi Himmat residents shower praises on Early Times | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 11: The Channi Himmat residents today spoke in praise of Early Times for highlighting in the newspaper the issue of encroachment of the proposed green-belt park in the locality. AS Wazir, former chief engineer and housing board managing director, said ET had become their voice by highlighting the issue and bringing it to the notice of the authorities concerned. He thanked the ET management for being supportive and sticking to the journalistic ethics while highlighting the green-belt issue. Wazir also extended his gratitude to divisional commissioner Pawan Kotwal, DC, Jammu, additional DC Sheetal Nanda and housing board managing director Dalip Thusoo for getting the encroachments removed. He hoped that the land freed from the encroachers would now soon be developed as green-belt park for the residents. Retired assistant commissioner Jagtar Singh was too loud in ET praise. "Early Times is our newspaper and we wish it all the best," he asserted. Singh said no other newspaper had supported their cause as the ET had. Surinder Singh, a businessman, said he would wish Early Times and other such newspapers to flourish in future. "It is not easy to write against land grabbers who are criminals," he said and added, "While some of them have police backing, others enjoyed political support." Mohit Suri, Prabhu Dayal, Mukta Sahwney and Subash Dutt also showered praises on ET for its boldness and journalism of truth. |
