Guru Gobind’s teachings will enlighten all generations: Dy CM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 12: Describing Guru Gobind Singh as apostle of love, compassion and brotherhood, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said teachings of Guru ji will continue to enlighten the mankind foe ever. Tara Chand was addressing the Gurupurab congregation at Gole Gujral Camp Gurudwara, here today. Prominent among those present were Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Baba Nangali Sahab, former MLA, Thakur Balwan Singh and a large number of Sikh devotees. Lauding role of Sikh community in various fields, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the community founded by the tenth Guru is known world over for its courage, valor and community service. He said the Khalsa Panth established by Guru ji is based on the concept of mutual coexistence, brotherhood and devotion to the supreme master. “Sikhs have played a special role in freedom struggle and have always been in the forefront in the fight against enemies during wars”, he said. Tara Chand said real tribute to spiritual leaders is to follow the path shown by them and by doing so we can make the world a better place to live. In present times of materialism, the teachings of Guru Sahib are like a beacon light which inspires all to live with amity and brotherhood, he added. Later, people of the area presented demands pertaining to the area, which included, regularization of the colony, improving sanitation of the area, opening of sports stadium and brining the area within the ambit of JMC. Responding to the demands the Deputy Chief Minister said all genuine issues would be taken at the right forum for appropriate action.
