| Youth day celebrated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua Jan 12: Youth day was celebrated on the occasion of birthday of Swami Vivekananda in the campus of Vivekananda Institutes. Professor and Reader Law Department G.N.D.U. Amritsar Dr Vinay Kapoor was the chief guest of the occasion while Advocate Kathua, Bharat Bushan presided over the function.
Besides Gain Chand from Vivekananda Kendra Jammu and Om Parkash Abrol from Vivekananda Kendra Pathankot were among the distinguished guests who graced the occasion. Twenty students of various schools and colleges who were the winners
of the examination conducted under “Vijay Hi Vijay Abhiyan” based on the life of Swami Vivekananda accompanied by the respected teachers also honoured the occasion by their presence. Chairman Vivekananda Institutes, Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta and
Principal Vivekananda colleges of Education, Dr. Anju Sharma and Principal Vivekananda Institutes of Education, Training and research, G.D Sharma were also present on the auspicious moment. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students which included welcome song, Dogri dance, Skit and Gidha which were highly appreciated by the audience. On the occasion Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta said that an ascetic’s life is meant for social service without any ambition or personal goals in mind.
Prizes were given to all the winners of “Vijay Hi Vijay Abhiyan” examination Chief Guest and other distinguished guests were honoured with mementos and portraits of Vivekananda. Vote of thanks was presented by G.D Sharma programme ended with singing of Vanda Matram.
