| DIG foils driver's bid to flee, catches him | | | Jammu: Over the hit-and-run death of a motorcyclist at Satwari here, the driver of a minibus was chased and caught by DIG Farooq Khan.
Police sources said a speeding minibus (JK02X/4138) hit a mobike (JK02N/5007) at Satwari, resulting in serious injuries to the motorcyclist Balbir Singh of Digiana.
While minibus driver Rashpal Singh sped away, DIG Farooq Khan, who was on his way to the city, chased and caught hold of him, the sources added.
Rashpal was later handed over to the Satwari police station. Balbir later died at the GMC hospital.
Police had registered a case against Rashpal. |
