Oriental Club faces Battal Balian in cricket final today

JAMMU, Jan 13: Oriental Cricket Club, Muthi shall take on Battal Ballian Cricket Club (BBCC) in the final of the ongoing New Year Cricket Cup Tournament at GGM Science College here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today low profile Oriental Club registered a big seven wickets win over Whites Cricket Club (WCC).
Batting first, WCC bowled out for 90 runs in 17 overs of the 20 overs match. Aslam was top scorer with 44 runs while no other batsman could touch the double figure mark. From Oriental Club, Mittu was most successful bowler who took four wickets for 13 runs while Ashu picked three and Srikant Bali one.
Later, chasing the target, Oriental Club reached the target in 15.2 overs for the loss of three wickets. Neeraj Dogra and Sunil Bali remained unbeaten at 28 and 22 runs respectively. Srikant Bali (21) and Vikas (11) were other main scorers. For WCC, Nazir took two wickets while Aman bagged one.

Narrow win for Battal Ballian

Meanwhile, in other semi-final, Battal Ballian Club could just make it a big wicket over Surinder Cricket Club to reach the final.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Surinder Club bundled-out for a small total of 89 runs with only two batsmen, Rohit and Kamal crossing the double figures contributing 20 and 14 runs respectively. For BBCC, Ashwani took three wickets while Tony and Vinay shared two each.
In reply, Battal Ballian overhauled the opponent total in 18 overs for the loss of 9 wickets thereby won the match by one wicket. Bharti scored 19 runs while Lovely and Vizzy chipped in with 11 runs each. Vikas and Raju claimed three wickets each while Provin picked two.
Today’s semi-finals were officiated by Rahul, Vishal as umpires while Puran was scorer. This tournament is being organised by Super Star Cricket Club under the supervision of Deepu.
