Farooq sings ‘main aaya, main aaya’
Says, would learn harmonium, if finds time

Jammu, November 8
Former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday enthralled his guests and won many a hearts with his melodious performance on the occasion of Eid /Diwali Milan at his residence in Bathindi.
If his performance was not enough more was in store for media men and other guests as Dr Farooq Abdullah announced his arrival on the scene. ‘main aaya, main aaya’, he said in his jovial mood triggering peels of laughter.
Talking to reporters soon after he finished his performance he said, he is regularly singing these days to give vent to his feelings and sufferings. When asked whether he is enjoying singing because of enough spare time he said this was not true.
“I always enjoyed singing irrespective of the fact that whether I am in power or out of power.
Dr Abdullah also took every one by surprise when he said he has only wish and that is his energy level should remain the same till he is alive. “meri jawani ka josh tha / umar aur mera saath rahe bas yahi dua hai”.
My music provides me with an opportunity to offload my pain. "maira sangeet mere sab dukh dard bhula deta hai". Either I remain in power or out of power I always enjoy singing.
When Abdullah was asked to share his choice about Hindi film actresses he said all are god but if I name anyone mein badnam ho jaoonga.
He also said that if he finds time he would love to learn playing harmonium.
Abdullah and his son NC Chief Omar Abdullah greeted guests along with several NC leaders at the entrance and accorded warm welcome.
A large number of senior bureaucrats, top brass of the state police, senior most officials of the district and police administration, politicians representing various political parties were present on the occasion reminding people of days of Dr Abdullah in power.
GOC 16 Corps Lt-Gen TK Sapru, DGP Police Gopal Sharma, ADG (CID) Kuldeep Khuda, IG Jammu SP Vaid,Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pramod Jain, Vice Chancellor of the SKUAST Nagendra Sharma , former DGP police MM Khajuria, Chairman PSC Mohd Shafi Pandit, President Chamber of Commerce and Industries Ram Sahai and corporator Bansi Lal Gupta were prominent among those present on the occasion.
Several former ministers from Abdullah’s former cabinet Abdul Rahim Rather, Mohd Shafi Uri , SS Salathia, Ajay Sadhotra, were also present among other NC leaders.
From the congress party Health Minister Mangat Ram Sharma was present along with another cabinet colleague Gulchain Singh Charak.Senior party leader Janak Raj Gupta, was also present Leaders from BJP Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, MLA Jugal kishore, Shiv Sena, senior journalists and others were also present. Not surprisingly, none of the PDP leaders were present on the occasion despite special invitation.
