| Woman killed, 17 hurt in road mishaps at Udhampur | | | JAMMU: A woman was killed and at least 17 others were wounded in separate road accidents in Udhampur today. Srishta (25) was going to the market at Syal Sallan in Udhampur when she was hit by a speeding motorcycle.
She was admitted to the Udhampur district hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. She hailed from Billan Bawli, Syal Sallan. The motorcyclist fled the spot after the incident.
Meanwhile, a bus fell into a gorge at Mogli in Udhampur, resulting in injuries to at least 17 people. The ill-fated bus (JK02D/9283) was on its way from Udhampur to
Pancheri. Police sources as the bus gave passage to another vehicle at Mogli, it fell into the gorge as a result of which at least 17 persons sustained wounded.
The injured were rescued and shifted to the Udhampur district hospital where the condition of three of them was said to be critical. Cases in this connection stand registered at the concerned police stations. |
